This is a very old part of the system dating back a few years since it was last touched so it is missing some advanced functionality.

We have some clients using 3rd party banner serving apps with much success if you need lots of flexibility.  It is an open source banner serving app.  It can be hosted on a 3rd party low-cost host like Godaddy or we can host it on our non-ecommerce servers for a fee.

Thanks for the link. I am more interested in understanding the functionality 'as is' to see if I can make it work on my site. I am thinking that this is a good way to rotate various products as a 'featured' snap in, or I can use this feature to promote some of my other sites. But I need to see an article that details how this works. Any info?
