Using a sub domain for the cart software

    Hello,

We have a website that we want to add a section for selling products. I dont want to get rid of the server/host we use for the site. I just want to add the Americommerce Software to it. I was thinking that we can do this by adding a subdomain to the site, for instance, store.domain.com. Does anyone know if this is possible?

    Thank you

Yes we can do that without a problem.  However if you purchase your own SSL certificate be sure to specify you want it for "store.domain.com" rather than "www.domain.com".

I actually want to use a subdomain on my sites for blogs (blog.SITENAME.com)

Do you guys do wordpress, or other software installations to subdomains for your clients? Thanks!

Murdock, yes we can install WordPress on a non-ecommerce server and point a subdomain to it, or you can actually host it with WordPress and we can point the subdomain to them as well.

    Hi Murdock,

    Have you completed this integration?

I am looking to do the same thing and was wondering which option you took and if it worked out?

    Thanks for the help,

Many people go the word press route, some even use the free Blogger.com service which you can point a domain too as well.  A great product, Microsoft Live Writer is also wonderful for managing blogs, posting to them quickly and easily posting images and such to it.   Definitely do the subdomain of your main domain as this will lend some SEO cred to your site.  Most people pick wordpress so far is what I have found.

We also have an RSS reader snapin as part of AmeriCommerce that will suck in the blog entries for posting on your site in the home page or other areas, as seen on www.americommerce.com home page at bottom.  Handy little fellow.
