While the snap-ins in my left column work admirably, when I edit the left column, none of them show up in the add snap-ins area.  This is only an issue when I want to add something to the left column, and can't put it where I want it without deleteing all of my other snap-ins and replacing them.  Is this a design feature, or a happy circumstance?  Can I have the snap-in bars back?

Has there been any resolution or new information about this issue?  I am currently working on a trial account and am seeing the same thing: 

A browse by category snap-in is on my page, and editable via the Live Design Mode, but doesn't show listed in when I am on the Snap-ins for Left Column area of the theme editor.

As the original poster mentioned, in order to reorder things, I would need to delete the disappearing snap-in and start over with it.

Did I inadvertently add code that  caused this to happen, and is there way to make the snap-in appear in the theme editor.
