    Product Export

Hi, I am a new customer and I am about to make the spreadsheet that AmeriCommerce supplied me. I need to fill in the different ItemID's, CategoryID's etc for them to put into the custom website they are building for me. But the problem is when I open this file in Excel I see all the different parameters housed in one single cell, namely A1. There is nothing that seperates each parameter in the different cells. Everything is bundled together. ItemID is not in A2 like CategoryID is not in A3.

Can anyone explain to me what it is I am doing wrong?

    Re: Product Export

I'm not sure why all fields are in one column. Here's a couple of options:

1/ If you have access to the admin area, go to "Global Setting" > "Data Import Tools" > "Product Import"

At the top of that page you will see an option to down a new file/template: "click to download the Sample File (used as a reference for uploading)."

    Alternatively:

2/ You may be able to get you current file to open correctly by going through the import data wizard within excel: go to "Data" > "Import External Data" > "Import Data". This will then give you the option to set the seperating value within the data as a comma [ , ] which should correctly separate each field within the data file.

    Cheers

    Hey it works now!

The problem was the commas, Excel wasn't set up for that.

Thanks for the help, now I can get started. :)
